Business Plan-Executive Summary

Business Plan-Executive Summary

When doing your business plan one of the most important elements that can have no mistakes is your executive summary.

An executive summary is a sales tool for your business plan. The quality of your executive summary determines whether the person reading the plan will continue or just push it aside with the others that person has received.

Another to remember is that you should keep it short and sweet. One thing to keep in mine is to not let emotion get involved. You love your business or the concept of it but you do not want to appear as though you are too emotional or else the people reading it may feel that it is too biased.

Mosio : a mobile questionaire

Mosio : a mobile questionaire

The web is full of applications that store data (often social, meaning others can enter data you are looking for). Most applications are rigid in structure, although more and more have become read/write even from mobile devices. Mosio is a newly released application meant especially for mobile access. It started as a questionaire, but it offers very smart reminder application as well.

You use the service by texting questions to it and get them answered by real people, meaning other people just like you. A clever addition is the ability to get headlines from selected news sources like BBC, abc news and AP on your mobile. And if you don’t know what to use it for, you can always subscribe to the inspirational quotes offered by Mosio.

Sony Twirl N’ Take camera

Sony Twirl N' Take camera

There is increasing concern among many (and that includes me) about the potential harm to the environment caused by batteries. With feature-packed gadgets requiring an increasing amount of power, disposal and recycling of batteries promises to become a global headache. So it’’s always heartening to see companies innovate and bring out devices that are powered by the good ol” “human effort + mechanical wizardry” combo. After launching hand-crank radios, Sony has now turned it’’s attention to digital cameras. It recently unveiled a hand-powered digital camera equipped with a wheel that can be turned to generate enough power to take photos. Shaped like a pizza cutter, an effort of 15 seconds on the wheel will generate sufficient juice to take one photo. So apart from the tree hugger effect, you have the added advantage of never worrying about running out of batteries for this camera. However, there are two major downers. There is no LCD to preview the photos and the camera is still a prototype. Though Sony currently has no plans to launch this camera commercially, increasing interest may spur it to do so in the future.

OFFI’s iPot trio of light

OFFI's iPot trio of light

We’re in the deepest part of the winter season, so almost anything that brightens up our space (work or home) is a welcomed addition. OFFI’s iPot emits a trio of automatically changing colored LED light (Cool Blue, Soft Red, and Smooth Purple).

What do you do with it? Pop in a small plant (real or fake), an array of small desk clutter, jelly beans & mints, or even your frequently disappearing keys. It’s a small way to cheer up your personal space and works with 3AAA batters of USB plug in.
